1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SkinScout ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SkinScout is a web-based analytics platform that provides CS2 (Counter-Strike 2) Steam Market data analysis and insights, including:

Searching and filtering Steam Market listings
Displaying float values, paint seeds, and item metadata
Sticker and keychain price tracking
Trade-up float analysis
Price history charts

The Service aggregates and analyzes publicly available data from the Steam Community Market. We do not sell, trade, or facilitate transactions of virtual items.

3. Account & Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. The Service offers Free and Premium subscription tiers with different feature sets and usage limits.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use automated bots, scrapers, or crawlers to access the Service
Attempt to bypass rate limits, access controls, or usage restrictions
Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit data obtained from the Service
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Share your account credentials with third parties

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and features, is the intellectual property of SkinScout. CS2 item names, images, and related content are trademarks of Valve Corporation. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written permission.

6. Public Data & Third-Party Trademarks

The Service aggregates and displays publicly available information from the Steam Community Market and other open sources. All data displayed is already freely accessible to any internet user. SkinScout does not access any private, restricted, or authenticated data on behalf of users.

SkinScout is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to Valve Corporation, Steam, Counter-Strike, or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. All product names, logos, brands, trademarks, and registered trademarks (including but not limited to "Steam", "Counter-Strike", "CS2", and "Valve") are the property of their respective owners and are used here solely for identification purposes. Use of these names does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components. We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of any data, prices, float values, or other information displayed through the Service. Market data may be delayed, inaccurate, or incomplete, and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SKINSCOUT AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE.

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise), even if SkinScout has been advised of the possibility of such damages. SkinScout is not responsible for any trading, purchasing, or financial decisions made based on data provided by the Service. You use the Service and act on any information at your own risk.

9. Buy Script & Third-Party Platform Interactions

The Service may provide convenience tools, including but not limited to purchase scripts ("Buy Script"), that interact with third-party platforms such as the Steam Community Market. These tools are provided strictly for informational and convenience purposes. You acknowledge and agree that:

You use any such tools entirely at your own risk and on your own volition. SkinScout does not encourage, endorse, or require the use of these tools.
SkinScout has no control over and bears no responsibility for the policies, terms of service, or enforcement actions of any third-party platform, including Steam and Valve Corporation.
SkinScout shall not be liable for any consequences arising from your use of these tools, including but not limited to account restrictions, suspensions, bans, trade locks, loss of virtual items, or loss of funds imposed by any third-party platform.
It is your sole responsibility to review and comply with the terms of service and policies of any third-party platform before using any tools provided by the Service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SkinScout, its operators, and contributors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of any third party.

11. Third-Party Data & Service Availability

The Service relies on data obtained from third-party sources, including but not limited to the Steam Community Market API and other Valve Corporation services ("Third-Party Sources"). You acknowledge and agree that:

SkinScout has no control over the availability, accuracy, or performance of Third-Party Sources. These services may experience downtime, rate limiting, API changes, access restrictions, or complete discontinuation at any time without notice.
Temporary or prolonged unavailability of data parsing, float inspection, price retrieval, or any other feature that depends on Third-Party Sources does not constitute a breach of these Terms, a defect in the Service, or grounds for a refund.
A Premium subscription grants you access to the Service's functionality and elevated usage limits, not a guarantee of specific results, data completeness, or uninterrupted availability.
SkinScout does not provide any Service Level Agreement (SLA). No credits, refunds, or compensation shall be owed for any period of reduced functionality or unavailability caused by Third-Party Sources, maintenance, or any other reason.

12. Subscriptions & Payments

Premium subscriptions are billed through our payment provider. Subscription terms, pricing, and renewal policies are displayed at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time without prior notice. All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise required by applicable law. Disruptions caused by third-party services (see Section 11) do not entitle you to a refund or credit.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, for any reason or no reason, at our sole and absolute discretion, without prior notice or liability. This includes, but is not limited to, violations of these Terms, suspected abuse, or any conduct we deem harmful to the Service or other users. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify, amend, or replace these Terms at any time and at our sole discretion, without prior notice. Changes become effective immediately upon being posted on this page. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your binding acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
